Introducing KERASAL® Callus Removal Cleansing Pads™
An Innovative New Tool in the Fight Against Sports Related Calluses

Morristown, New Jersey, (April 2007) - Kerasal®, the leading brand of exfoliating-moisturizing foot care products, is introducing Callus Removal Cleansing Pads™ -- the first product of its kind. Unlike ordinary pumices stones, files and rasps, Kerasal takes callus care to a whole new level by combining modern day convenience and hygiene to create a dual-textured, pre-moistened, disposable pad that cleans and safely removes rough skin and stubborn calluses.

Kerasal® Callus Removal Cleansing Pads™ are sold in a resealable pouch of ten pads, pre-moistened with a gentle cleanser. The abrasive side safely removes rough skin and calluses while the soft side of the pad provides soothing cleansing to whisk away sloughed skin cells. Athletes such as ball players, runners, skaters, gymnasts and dancers who rely heavily on their feet are often victims of calluses due to stress and friction from training and performance. Proper foot care in controlling callus build up will help avoid preventable injuries such as cracks or tear that can result from an excessively thick or large calluses.

The pre-moistened pads in the resealable pouch also makes Callus Removal Cleansing Pads™ convenient for use anywhere. Grab them to go when on the road or running off to the gym. The disposability ensures each pad will be fresh and new, which is a great alternative to the ordinary pumice stone left sitting in your shower. The humid environment of a typical bathroom combined with the porous nature of a pumice stone can trap dead skin cells and dirt, which makes for an unwanted science experiment that you will not want touching your skin. You will never have to use a less than pristine pumice stone, rasp or file again.

Kerasal® Callus Removal Cleansing Pads™ will be available nationwide in the foot care section of Wal-Mart where other fine Kerasal® products are sold starting in April 2007. The Suggested Retail Price is $5.99. In addition to Wal-Mart, the existing Kerasal line is also available in the foot care aisle of all major drug, food and mass merchandise stores nationwide.

Callus Care

Calluses are the body’s defense against excessive pressure and friction. Some common causes of calluses are ill-fitting shoes, abnormalities in the gait (walking motion), bony prominences, flat feet, and high arched feet. Added pressure or weight on the feet caused by obesity or repeated stress resulting from walking, jumping or running on hard surfaces are also contributory factors.

As the skin is exposed to continued friction, an accumulation of dead skin cells hardens and thickens creating a callus. Calluses are often found on the ball of the foot and the heel. Calluses may be dry, yellowish and layered, or even scaly, and may peel. In severe cases, they become excessively large, uncomfortable, and can even crack or tear away exposing raw skin underneath. Therefore, proper callus care is the key to optimal athletic performance.

Long recommended by podiatrists, Kerasal was named the #1 Pharmacist Recommended OTC Foot Care Brand in 2006 by Pharmacy Today. Kerasal focuses on products that will be embraced by the professional community and that demonstrate a higher level of care with effective results quickly. Kerasal is the maker of clinically proven Exfoliating Moisturizer Foot Ointment, made with salicylic acid and urea. Ron Culp, head athletic trainer of the Miami Heat, responsible for the health and conditioning of his players, has two-thirds of the team on a regimen of using Kerasal Exfoliating Moisturizer daily to soften and control calluses.
